چکیده

The presence of right half plane (RHP) zeros in the transfer function relating the base torque to the tip position has long been the source of diiculty in noncollocated control of a Single Flexible Link (SFL). In this paper, we suggest an alternative noncollocated measurement called the virtual angle of rotation. We then show the following. a) The tranfer function with this output does not have any zeros in the open RHP. b) The zero dynamics arising from this measurement are stable. c) This distributed system can be stabilized by a nite-dimensional controller in the presence of Rayleigh damping.

Control of Flexible Link Robot using a Closed Loop Input-Shaping Approach

This paper is has addressed the Single Flexible Link Robot. The dynamical model is derived using Euler-Lagrange equation and then a proper controller is designed to suppress a  vibration based-on Input-Shaping (IS) method. But, IS control method is an open loop strategy. Due to the weakness of open loop control systems, a closed loop IS control system is proposed. The achieved closed loop c...

Achieving Minimum Phase Transfer Function for a Noncollocated Single-link Flexible Manipulator

A noncollocated system has the potential of providing more precise tracking, improved disturbance rejection and increased bandwidth at the sensor location, but is considerably more difficult to stabilize than a collocated system due to its nonminimum phase nature. For a flexible manipulator, the problem becomes even more complicated because the system is inherently infinite dimensional. In this...

Nonlinear Stabilizing Controller for a Special Class of Single Link Flexible Joint Robots

Joint flexibility is a very important factor to consider in the controller design for robot manipulators if high performance is expected. Most of the research works on control of flexible-joint robots in literature have ignored the actuator dynamics to avoid complexity in controller design. The problem of designing nonlinear controller for a class of single-link flexible-joint robot manipulator...

Control of a Flexible Robot Using Fuzzy Logic and a Noncollocated Sensor

Inverse flexible dynamics control (IFDC) and fuzzy logic system adaptive control (FLSAC) strategies are used to track the end effector of a flexible space robot with sensors collocated at the joints, noncollocated at the end effector and 0.5m from the elbow joint on link 2. Collocated joint sensors satisfy hyperstability conditions but fail to capture nonminimum phase (NMP) response that genera...

Trajectory Tracking for a Flexible One-Link Robot using a Nonlinear Noncollocated Output

In this paper, we introduce a method that provides a nonlinear noncollocated output for trajectory tracking of a flexible one-link robot. The link is modeled as a finite-order Lagrangian system obtained from truncated modal analysis. This noncollocated output is derived based on viewing a flexible link robot arm as an underactuated mechanical system and then applying an appropriate change of co...
